Isn't it about time the BBC got their finger out and gave this programme a proper DVD release. All that is available is 2 "best of" compilations. Pathetic! This programme is yet another Perry/Croft classic and is even in the Top 10 Favourite Sitcoms. It deserves a series by series release, like we are getting with the fantastic Hi-De-Hi! I have already E-Mailed the BBC regarding this, and if anyone else is interested the address is carolyn.bartholomew@bbc.co.uk

Yes, Gary, it seems a rather strange representation of the show in DVD format. Aimed at the general public rather than hardcore fans I would have thought. I think what fans would want is a series by series release starting with "The Man & The Hour" and going through to "Never Too Old" with a few extras thrown in ! "It Ain't Half Hot Mum" too has been neglected totally in DVD format (although I think Acorn Video hold the rights to the series for a while, don't know when they revert back to the BBC though...) And as for YRML, they don't seem even vaguely interested in it at all never mind DVD releases !!! So given the above it seems that Hi-de-Hi! is faring better than most as we shall soon have four complete series in digital format. We can only hope that the BBC see sense with all the other shows and start a release schedule. They are known and loved all over the world so it shouldn't be too much of a financial risk given that programmes such as Solo and The Brittas Empire which I would have thought have a lesser following are available to buy.

Brilliant news that Series 1 and what remains of Series 2 is to be released on DVD in October. Lets hope that they continue to release it in series format, probably one series per year which is the BBCs usual release schedule. ;D ;D ;D

Well, the BBC seems to be speeding up with releases, on their own label anyway. Series 3 has got a provisional release date for May 9, which is great news, considering the lack of releases from Playback.
