Whilst my Hi-de-Hi! book "Hello Campers" seems to be stalled amid disinterested publishers, I am TENTATIVELY thinking of organising a Hi-de-Hi Reunion for sometime next year with as many of the cast as we can get together. I just wondered how many of the members of this board would be prepared to travel to a venue in the south of England to attend ? Don't take it as red that it will definately happen, I am just gauging opinion at this stage. As I have been in semi-regular touch with most of the cast still with us, it would be nice for them to say "Here we all are... back together again". And a chance for longterm fans (and some newer ones hopefully) to get an autograph and a photo and perhaps a chat with their heroes. What do people think, would there be enough interest ? As most of the cast live in the south it seems obvious that that is where the venue should be, and also on a Sunday as those working in the theatre would not be performing. People like Jeffrey Holland, Su Pollard, Nikki Kelly, Felix Bowness and Barry Howard would I'm sure be up for it. Others might take some persuading. What is the general opinion ? Worth a go ?

It sounds like a good idea. I can't say I would definitely be there but I will certainly keep an eye on any developments.

I'd love to meet the cast. You know, if you can't get your book published I read the other week about a web service which will publish a book for you, and sell it copy by copy - no inventory so if you only sell a few it doesn't matter. I can't remember what it was called but a web search should find it.

Well there has been movement in that it has been decided to try and get some of the Maplins gang back together for the 2006 PERRY AND CROFT DAY to be held by the Dads Army Appreciation Society on Sunday 14th May at Bressingham. It is hoped to have stars there representing all 4 sitcoms and I am currently engaged in finding out which of the cast members are willing to attend. Several have pledged a very definate YES but with these things it is always subject to work commitments and of course many are saying 'I don't know if I will be available next May' so its an ongoing thing. I'm fairly confident though that a contingent from Maplins will be there on the day.
I'll do my best to keep you informed of developments and will make sure they are posted on Su Pollard's website.

Just to let everyone know that plans are very firmly underway to get a load of HI DE HI and YOU RANG M'LORD ? cast to Bressingham Steam Museum on 14th May for PERRY AND CROFT DAY held by the DAAS. Su Pollard should definately be there along with Jeffrey Holland, Nikki Kelly, Linda Regan, David Webb, Barry Howard, Donald Hewlett, Michael Knowles, Bill Pertwee and many others. All have accepted the invitation subject to professional commitments of course. Invitations are still going out so nothing is finalised yet but it looks to be a good day if they can all make it... Hope to see as many of you there as possible !!!! Full details from www.dadsarmy.co.uk

Would there be any chance to let us know of a list of which actors are definately going nearer the date?

I have just checked www.dadsarmy.co.uk and a list of names have been confirmed as being at Bressingham on 14th May. These include Su Pollard, Jeffrey Holland and Nikki Kelly. Others are named as well, others haven't yet confirmed, but we will be there as I think it could be fun!

Brilliant - I have just got back from a trip today with the Carryonline website, where we met Valerie Leon, Larry Dann and Patrick Durkin, as well as alot of other great people that I've spoken to on the website! It was a great day and it sounds like Bressingham will be just as fab!! ;D

Sadly, Su Pollard has had to pull out of the Perry/Croft day, due to unforseen work commitments. I am disappointed but am still looking forward to see the writers and other members of the casts.

Having just got back from Bressingham I can report that the day was a great success, the only complaint I make is the poor turn out from the Hi-De-Hi cast. It was represented by Jeffrey Holland and The Webb Twins. I can appreciate that some of the cast would have commitments but surely not all. After all this may have been the last chance to stage such an event, considering some of the ages of the cast from the other shows, also the fact that a lot of the cast owe their careers to Jimmy Perry & David Croft. Would a few hours on only one day this year really have been too much to ask? I hope the members of the cast who DIDN'T have a legitimate reason for not being there hang their heads in shame!
On a lighter note here is a list of the ones who made it a great day as well as Jeffrey and The Webbs. We had Bill Pertwee, Clive Dunn (who had flown in from Portugal), Ian Lavender (who had come down from appearing on stage in Derby), Eric Longworth, Pamela Cundell and Frank Williams all from Dads Army (and You Rang in Bills case), there was Michael Knowles and Donald Hewlett from It Ain't Half Hot Mum & You Rang, and Susie Brann from You Rang. Obviously Jimmy & David were there as was Harold Snoad. I even managed to get my picture taken with Ian Lavender and Susie Brann which made my day!
A great day that I will remember with a lot of affection, as will lots of others, well done to all.
